Millions of people, mainly men, do it every day. Sticking your wallet into your back pocket. What most people don't know though is over time, that small wallet pressing on your back can cause sciatic strain and a nasty condition called sciatica.
Things You'll Need:
Journal
Step 1 Eat only anti-inflammatory foods - many foods can actually cause your muscles to become slightly inflamed. Normally, you may not even notice this, but when you have sciatica, even the slightest inflammation can cause major pain.
Step 2 Try Sleeping on Your Stomach - this will take all of the pressure off of your sciatic nerve and the surrounding areas. If you are a side sleeper, you may want to consider a pregnancy pillow so that you have full body support.
Step 3 Journal - this cannot be stressed enough. Whether you are trying sciatica home treatments or looking for doctors advice, journal everything. How you feel, how you are sleeping, what you are eating, and how badly you are hurting. This may seem time consuming, but journals go a long way in learning what works and what doesn't work in your treatment plan.
