Getting a great workout in before you day begins is a sure-fire way to stay pumped and energetic. If strength training has been on your workout checklist, it’s time to looked into this awesome move: The Jump Lunge. With this move you’ll be picking up your heart rate as well as working out your lower body. You’ll be using your thighs, hamstrings, glutes, and calves all to get nice and fit for this summer.
For this move you’re going to need a pair of lightweight dumbbells by your side, anything between the 5lb. to 8lb. range would be an excellent choice. To begin, hold the dumbbells in your hands at arm’s length on your side. Make sure that your palms are facing each other. While standing, place your left foot in front of your right foot and then begin to lower your body down. Try to lower yourself enough that your knee right about touches the ground. Next, jump up into the air in a swift motion, using a decent amount of force to allow you to scissor kick in the air. The scissor kick should alternate your legs so that you land with your right foot in front of your left. Repeat the move over, alternating between each leg. Perform the move for two to three sets of ten reps.
