Have you been running around each morning with a crazy amount of stress bringing you down? Need a pick-me-up each day just to function normally? Well, then you’ve been starting your mornings all wrong. When it comes to starting your day off right, nutritionist, chef, and Vitasoy ambassador, Zoe Bingley-Pullin, has all of the right starting tips. Follow through on Zoe’s morning routine to feel your very best as soon as you hop out of bed.
Zoe’s first step for her morning routine consists of drinking 1 liter of water before she leaves the house. “It’s important to drink at least 2L of water each day to balance your fluids, flush out toxins and keep your skin looking hydrated.” she says. “I keep a liter water bottle beside my bed so I can grab it and start hydrating as soon as I wake up.”
The second step in Zoe’s morning routine is to meditate or stretch for at least 5 – 10 minutes. If you’re unsure of how to meditate on your own, Zoe suggests simply finding a quite area in your home where you can sit and just focus on your breathing.
Finally, Zoe is quiet adamant about not leaving the house before having a healthy breakfast meal. “If you skip breakfast, you’re setting yourself up for blood sugar highs and lows all day – not great news if you’re running on an on-the-go schedule,” Zoe says. So prepare a fruit and vegetable smoothie in the morning, have a yogurt, or make yourself some avocado toast just to give you that initial kick-start energy you’ll need.

After the confusion sets in, your organs may begin to shut off. A high temperature will cause the organs to start burning up as well, leading to organ failure. One of the first organs that will be affected is the kidneys, liver, the brain, and the heart. All of your most vital organs will be at risk if you are suffering from a heat stroke.
Finally, the last sign is nauseous. You may begin to feel incredibly fatigued and you may even begin vomiting. Heat stroke is a serious and life threatening problem, so if you feel a heat stroke coming on call 911 immediately.

Urban Outfitters have found themselves in the midst of a huge controversy surrounding a brand of shampoo available in their stores. The ‘suicide shampoo’ as it was known, received loads of harsh criticism from customers that shop in the U.K. shops. The shampoo is a product of the Anatomicals brand Peachy Head. The shampoo is called the Peach Shampoo for Suicidal Hair. The shampoo’s product description especially brought questionable thoughts to many customers, as the bottle read: “I never knew my once beautiful hair would actually commit suicide by tossing itself off dramatic white cliffs to the rocks below. Now look at me, completely bald. Before it’s too late, bring your locks back from a state of complete depression with this conditioning peach shampoo.”
Many of Urban Outfitter’s customers took to social media to air their grievances about the shampoo bottle. Customers questioned the reasoning behind supporting a shampoo with such a stark message, especially with so many young girls shopping at Urban Outfitters. Due to the heavy criticism that they received, Urban Outfitters decided to completely pull all of the shampoo bottles off their shelves. Although the gesture was a step in the right direction, many women couldn’t help but feel that the damage was already done, especially with the rising suicide rates amongst young girls in the U.K. One Twitter user even suggested for Urban Outfitters to donate to a suicide prevention charity in order to help mediate the situation further.
What do you guys think of the Urban Outfitters shampoo scandal?

The holiday season brings with it an abundance of holiday traveling as we make our way to our families and friends. Since many of us have family members across the country, the easiest and most timesaving way to travel is by plane. While many people have no problem zoning out on an airplane trip and getting through it easily, some of us are not quite so calm about it. If you happen to be a nervous flier, then you’ll know just how nerve-wrecking traveling on a plane can be. However, one of the biggest mistakes that many nervous fliers make is to drink some alcohol before and during their flight.
Alcohol happens to dehydrate us a lot and pairing that up with a high altitude flight will only dry you out even more. Dehydrated skin can make you feel even worse while you’re on your flight. Instead of drowning yourself in liquor, take a more proactive step to calming your nerves. A secret and therapeutic trick that not many may be aware of is the positive effects of essential oils. If you happen to feel nervous on your flight, simply whip out some lavender or ylang ylang oil and dab it on your wrists. Inhaling the scent will help settle your nerves and keep you from indulging liquor.
Forget avoiding your family due to your fear of traveling and breeze through your next flight with the help of essential oils. You’ll be surprised at how calm you feel afterwards.

Although the spring weather brings with it a beautiful multitude of blooming flowers and warmer weather, it also brings with it a case of the seasonal allergies. Seasonal allergies are the only buzzkill in the world that could kill that joyous spring vibe. Unfortunately for many of us residing in the states, there are going to be some cities that will be absolutely filled with allergy inducing components. A new ranking system courtesy of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) has kindly taken the time out to inform us of which exact cities to watch out for this allergy season.
The foundation created the list of major cities by taking a few key questions into consideration. A few of the questions proposed were pollen score, allergy medication usage, and availability of Board-certified allergists. Taking all of these factors into consideration, the foundation was able to compile a list of 5 major cities that will be highly affected by seasonal allergies.
The list is as follows:
- Jackson, MS
- Memphis, TN
- Syracuse, NY
- Louisville, KY
- McAllen, TX
It seems that at the very top of the list this year is major city, Jackson, MS. The city was rated highest due to higher than average pollen and higher than average medicine use. Even if you don’t happen to reside in one of the major cities listed, you should still go out of your way to get allergy relief if it is needed.
“Whether you live in one of these allergy capitals or somewhere else, it is important to work with your doctor to learn what triggers your allergies and determine the best treatments for you to enjoy your life unencumbered by seasonal nasal allergies,” says Dr. Cary Sennett, AAFA’s President and CEO.

Coffee fiends, you’ve been warned, your daily coffee intake may be negatively effecting your ability to conceive a child. If you’re a woman that happens to be pregnant at the moment or is looking toward getting pregnant, then you may already be well aware of the need to cut back on your daily caffeine allowance. However, would you have ever guessed that your partner’s caffeine intake could be affecting your pregnancy as well? A recent study published in the journal Fertility and Sterility, followed around 344 heterosexual couples and had them record their daily caffeine, alcohol, and vitamin intakes.
Throughout the study, 98 couples unfortunately suffered from a miscarriage. The number happens to be about over a quarter of the couples, spelling out some very bad news. The study found that women who were over 35 and did not take their daily vitamins and kept their caffeine levels the same were among the most likely to have a miscarriage. Although that fact may seem obvious, the part that was not obvious was the link between the miscarriage and the partner’s daily habits. It seems that if the partner was consuming up to three caffeinated beverages per day that the couple was much more likely to suffer from a miscarriage. Although the study has not been able to link the two factors completely, it does give us all a little something to think about.
In the meantime, it may not be such a bad idea to cut back on the caffeine if you are planning on starting a family or getting pregnant once again.

Brace yourselves ladies and gents, it seems that your local gym may be undergoing a pretty definitive change soon. For those of you who have a gym membership, you may have noticed that many of the walls happen to be covered in mirrors. Well, it seems that Blink Fitness, a popular gym for their affordable prices, are looking to remove self-conscious workout attitudes by blocking out their gym mirrors. Starting this month, Blink Fitness will be covering all of their mirrors for an entire day as they start off their new campaign, Monday Without Mirrors.
“Fitness has never been just about looking a certain way for us,” Blink Fitness president Todd Magazine said in a press release. “Through our Monday Without Mirrors initiative, we’re encouraging our members to take a stand with us—that exercise is good for our health. It’s good for our minds. It builds confidence. It’s not just about what you see in the mirror.”
The new campaign is certainly coming from a good place and we do applaud Blink Fitness for taking a stance against much of the body shaming that goes on in the world. However, we can’t overlook the fact that mirrors also help many of us to perfect our workout form and understand our bodies better. Mirrors in the gym also help us to be more aware of others around us, keeping us all from bumping heads and equipment. What do you guys think of the new campaign initiative started by Blink Fitness?

Coffee lovers, beware, it seems that hot beverages may be linked to an increased link in cancer. Recently, coffee has been getting some pretty awesome representation in the health fields. It seems that coffee has been linked to a variety of positive ends in the body, like preventing liver damage and heart disease and it can also help push you to workout more often. With so many positive aspects, it would seem odd that a recent report found that coffee could be linked to some serious cancer claims. According to the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), coffee has been listed as a “possible carcinogenic.”
However, a few recent studies that have been published have found that there is simply not enough evidence to prove that coffee has any link to cancer. The study looked into the effects that coffee has on both humans and animals. The results did not fall in line with the original carcinogenic narrative. Now, while this can be looked at as good news, there is a caveat here. It seems that incredibly hot beverages have been linked to esophageal cancer.
“The majority of esophageal cancers occur in parts of Asia, South America, and East Africa, where regularly drinking very hot beverages is common and where the reasons for the high incidence of this cancer are not as well understood,” IARC director Christopher Wild, PhD, said in a press release.
So you can still enjoy your daily cup of coffee, but be sure to cool it on the heat!
